The Self-Care Advocate BEL protocol is a workshop designed to establish a foundation for optimal wellness. In addition to benefiting the individual, our protocol can strengthen the community and even the worksite. Our protocol complements the Multicultural Wellness Wheel, which provides a guide for the development of personal, communities and workplace wellness. The Multicultural Wellness Wheel serves as a tool for sustained engagement and personal reflection, supports dialogue and discussions, and assists practitioners with individual, family, workplace, and community wellness initiatives related to their unique communities of practice. Advocates are developed overall and become more effective on their journey to better health through the implementation of the 7 Pillars of Self-Care. This is which is a framework used for optimizing personal wellness. The seven pillars of wellness are emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical, environmental, occupational, and social.
